Holiday Wishes

Happy Holidays on behalf of the Great Neck Park District Commissioners and staff. They would like to say “thank you” for giving them the opportunity to serve you. Their hope is to succeed in providing superior service to our residents every year. They also send everyone their best wishes for peace, health and happiness in 2018.

Camp Parkwood Winter Season

During the December holiday break, Tuesday, Dec. 26 to Friday, Dec. 29, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., children in grades K-6, can experience programs and activities at Parkwood Tennis Center and the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink including tennis, skating, hockey, archery, gymnastics and more. The children are grouped by age, transportation is provided between facilities and lunch is included or you can bring your own. Residents: $360; Non-Residents: $400. Take a Hockey Clinic

Hockey clinics will be offered daily, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29 (ages 5+). Full equipment is required to participate. There is a special public session schedule for the holiday break which can be found on the Park District website www.gnparks.org. Register online or call (516) 487-2975, Ext. 128.

December Holiday Tennis Camp

Tuesday, Dec. 26 to Friday, Dec. 29, 12 -4 p.m., children ages 6-17 can hone their tennis skills at the Parkwood Tennis Center. Register online gnparks.org or call (516) 829-9050. Residents, $80 per day; non-residents, $94 per day. Register for one day or all four.

Early Bird Registration for Camp Parkwood 2018

Interested patrons can register their children for Camp Parkwood 2018 before Dec. 31 to receive the early bird discount. Camp Parkwood offers older campers a co-ed travel program and an optional door-to-door transportation service for children ages 4 and up. Find necessary registration material online at www.gnparks.org or visit Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Avenue. All completed forms must be submitted to Great Neck House by the deadline to receive the discount.

Nature Program: Winter Seasonal Stroll and Photo Op Walk

Saturday, Dec. 24, 12:30 p.m., join the Park District for a winter seasonal stroll in Kings Point Park and learn how Mother Nature survives the cold winter months. Meet in the first lot at the Steamboat Road entrance. Sunday, Jan. 7, 12:30 p.m., there will also be a photo opp walk in Caumsett Park, Huntington. This is a hilly one and a half mile stroll with brief pauses in areas of natural or historic interest. A guide will provide information and allow time for snapshots. Bring your own camera. Birthday Parties in the Park District

Interested patrons can book their child’s next celebration with the Park District, whether it’s a skating party at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink (516) 829-4323 or a unique-themed party package at Steppingstone Park (516) 482-0355.
