Great Neck Park District Job Fair 2018

Attend the Park District Job Fair, Monday, March 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Avenue to find many seasonal/part-time jobs available throughout the Park District including Parkwood Pool, Indoor/Outdoor Tennis, Camps/Pre-school, Recreation, Marina/Sailing Director, Summer Performing Arts, Parks, Security, Office/Clerical.

Nature Program: Spring Seasonal Stroll

Take a spring stroll with the Park District on Sunday, March 25, 12:30 p.m. in Kings Point Park. This stroll, one of a series designed to observe seasonal changes, will focus on baby birds as nature is reborn in spring. Meet in first lot at the Red Brook entrance. Weekend Movie at Great Neck House

The film, Stronger (2017), directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tatiana Maslany and Miranda Richardson is playing at Great Neck House, Friday, Mar. 23 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 24, at 5 & 8 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 25 at 7:30 p .m. This is the inspiring real life story of Jeff Bauman, an ordinary man who captured the hearts of his city and the world to become a symbol of hope after surviving the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. It is rated R and runs 1 hour and 59 minutes. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park card.

Sunday @ 2: Flutissimo Quartet

On Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m., this talented foursome performs at Great Neck House. Playing the traditional C flute, piccolo, alto and bass flutes, their program ranges from classical to contemporary. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park card.

Co-Ed Lacrosse
From 4:30-5:30 p.m., beginning Thursday, April 19 and running for eight weeks at Memorial Field, the Park District’s new lacrosse program introduces children, ages 3 to 12, to this fast-growing sport. Experienced coaches promote commitment and teamwork, while teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse. Skills and techniques are focused on to prepare players for the next level. The program for three to five year olds is run in conjunction with U.S. Sports Institute. Register online www.gnparks.org or call (516) 482-0355.

Sports Programs

Great Neck Park District is teaming up with U.S. Sports Institute, Sting FC Academy of Great Neck and U.K. Elite Soccer this spring to offer programs for children ages 2-10, beginning in April. Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House

Great Neck House continues to offer Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes the first Saturday of each month. Running from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be a class April 7 and May 5. To sign up for a class or for more information, call Great Neck House at 482-0355.
