A new session of classes, for adults and children, will begin at Great Neck House the week of Feb. 26 and run through the week of June 4. Non-resident fees apply. Nature Program: Birding Basics for Beginners

Sunday, Feb. 24, 12:30 p.m., this indoor presentation at Great Neck House will introduce adults to birds and their adaptations. You will be provided with information on where to go and what to get to learn more. A short optional bird walk, following the presentation, will be offered (binoculars helpful). Register online gnparks.org or call (516) 482-0355. Children under 16 may not attend.

Movie at Great Neck House

A Private War (2018), directed by Matthew Heineman and starring Rosamund Pike, Greg Wise and Alexandra Moen, can be seen at Great Neck House on Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5 and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. One of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time, Marie Colvin is an utterly fearless and rebellious spirit, driven to the frontline of conflicts across the globe to give voice to the voiceless. It is rated R and runs 1h 50min. Park card required for admission to Great Neck House.

Sunday @ 3

Enjoy the Sunday @ 3 concert featuring The Clusters, a Doo Wop-type group, on Sunday March 3, 3 p.m. at Great Neck House. With original 1958 bass singer, Joey Gugliotta, the band plays oldies and doo wop hits from the ‘50s through the ‘80s. The band recently re-formed with former members of the Platters, the Valentinos and the Del Larks. Bring your park card for admission to Great Neck House.

Winter Swim Program

Winter Swim programs for children, ages 3 and up, continue at the Great Neck North Middle School every Saturday afternoon between 12 and 4 p.m. It is never too late to register. Session 3 begins Saturday March 2 and runs through May 12. Non-resident fee applies. Call (516) 487-2975, Ext. 112 for more information.

Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House

Great Neck House offers Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving Classes on the first Saturday of every month. There will be a class on Saturday, March 2 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. To sign up for a class or for more information, call Great Neck House at 482-0355.
