The Island Now
Whole Foods Market 5% Community Giving Day

Island Harvest Food Bank will receive five percent of net sales from all Whole Foods Market locations on Long Island on Thursday, Jan. 10, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., as part of Whole Foods Market’s annual Community Giving Day.

Island Harvest Food Bank provides supplemental food assistance and related services to approximately 300,000 food-insecure Long Islanders via a network of 450 community-based agencies in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Whole Food’s January Community Giving Day initiative focuses on nourishing those in need by supporting nonprofits that work to improve access to healthy food for all, provide healthy eating and cooking resources and education, and highlight the essential role of healthy food in the communities Whole Foods Market serves.

More than 490 Whole Foods Market locations nationwide, including the three on Long Island that follow, will participate in the Community Giving Day by donating to organizations, projects and programs that support the mission of ensuring access to healthy food for all.
