He did — allegedly — start the fire.

Nassau County police arrested a Hewlett man Wednesday evening who is accused of starting two fires in Mineola nearly a year ago.

Police said Glenn Annesley, 55, was involved in fires set in a clothing bin behind 100 Herricks Road, an office building, and a dumpster behind 80 Herricks Road, a day care center, in July 2016.

The dumpster fire occurred at 4:40 a.m. on July 8 of last year, and the clothing bin fire happened at 2:10 a.m. on July 31 last year, police said.

The Police Department’s Arson and Bomb Squad detectives arrested Annesley on Wednesday after an “extensive investigation,” police said in a news release.

Annesley was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead on two counts of fifth-degree arson, a misdemeanor.

Information about Annesley’s legal representation and next court appearance was not immediately available online Thursday afternoon.
