Mayor Paul Ehrbar outlined the road projects that are underway in the Village of Williston Park at the Board of Trustees meeting on Monday night.

He said cement work was performed on Meagher Place between Willis Avenue and Cross Street. He also said Burkhard Avenue, Horton Highway and Van Wagner Place are expected to be paved by Friday.

The next roads slated for repairs are Cushing Avenue from Hillside Avenue to Lafayette Street, and Colonial Avenue.

Ehrbar also said that the roadwork will have to be put on hold when the weather cools down before resuming in the spring.

Deputy Mayor Kevin Rynne announced during his report that the village will host its Ragamuffin Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.

He also announced that the village will host the seventh annual 5K Williston Park Family Fun Run. The event will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, after a delay last year due to COVID.

“I believe in 2019, we had close to 200 people,” Rynne said. “Every year it keeps getting bigger and bigger, so please support the two events.”
