Police identify man killed in Mineola crash last week

A bicyclist killed by a vehicle last week has been identified as Williston Park resident Joseph Harrison, Nassau County police said Wednesday.

Police also said that they are looking for a 2006 to 2008 Infiniti, four-door SUV, light in color, possibly silver or gray, with front end damage.

Harrison, 64, was riding his bicycle southbound on Mineola Boulevard by Washington Avenue when he was struck by an “unknown southbound vehicle” Oct. 2, police said. Harrison suffered a serious head injury and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a staff physician, police said.

At the time of the accident, police did not reveal Harrison’s identity.
