Williston Park’s old-school charm has won the attention of film crews once again.
Martin Scorsese’s film “The Irishman” may return for more filming in Williston Park on Saturday, Mayor Paul Ehrbar said during Monday’s Board of Trustees work session.
The filming will be done outside Hildebrandt’s restaurant on Hillside Avenue likely between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Ehrbar said, adding that he is waiting to hear more details from the film crew.
Saturday’s potential shoot follows filming done around the village in November, when the crew shot a bit outside of Hildebrandt’s as well as by D and J Print Shop.
Hildebrandt’s was previously used as a set in “The Book of Henry,” starring Naomi Watts and Sarah Silverman, in 2015.
It is unknown yet how much of Hillside Avenue will be closed off on Saturday and for what hours, Ehrbar said.
Trustee Teresa Thomann said that filming on a weekend is more disruptive than on a weekday when people are already at work or where they need to be during those hours.
Ehrbar said that so far, residents have been enjoying watching the film crews and stars – like Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino – come through the village.
