Three men were arrested after a 2020 Volkswagen was stolen from an Albertson resident’s garage last Thursday morning, Nassau County police reported.

According to the report, an unknown individual entered the garage of an Oak Ridge Lane residence and took the car without the owner’s permission. After an investigation, officials said, the vehicle was located at 101 Taylor Ave., Westbury. The address is connected with the Pines Motor Lodge.

When police arrived, three men were seen entering the vehicle, according to the report.  Jamil Davistaylor, 18, and Shawn Harvey, 21, both from Hempstead, were reportedly placed under arrest without incident.  The third man, 23-year-old Curtis Williams, of Freeport, fled on foot before being apprehended, officials said.

According to officials, Harvey was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, grand larceny in the third degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and second-degree burglary.

Davistaylor was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.

Williams was charged with second-degree burglary, assault in the second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and third-degree grand larceny.

According to the report, all three individuals were scheduled to be arraigned in Mineola last Friday, but efforts to reach a court official for comment were unavailing.
