After 16 years practicing as a registered nurse, Charlotte Van der Waag entered the world of real estate.

Waag, of Coach Realtors of the Willistons, was appointed 2018 president of the Long Island Board of Realtors during a Nov. 21 ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

Waag has been a member of the Long Island board  since 1986, when she began her real estate career, according to a news release.

Waag bought the office where she began her career in 1997 and partnered with Larry Finn in 2002. Waag continues to train and manages around 46 agents, according to the release.

In addition to her active membership with LIBOR, Waag has been involved with the Women’s Council of Realtors for about 15 years. She has received recognition from both associations, and was named New York State Member of the Year for WCR in 2009 and Broker of the Year for LIBOR in 2013.

Waag serves as a director on both the Long Island board and New York State Association of Realtors.
