Roger Fay Williston Park Poor opens

The Island Now

This past Saturday, the Roger Fay Williston Park Pool opened for the 2018 season.

The facility, a golden oasis in the Village of Williston Park, was ready for the upcoming season. The weather this past weekend was fantastic, providing a summer like weekend for those who came to kick off the new pool season.

Thanks to both our Village staff and Pool staff for the work done, to ensure that the patrons were exposed to a wonderfully prepared facility.

Much of the pool staff have returned, with Jack Sommesse as manager, Marilyn Schuel as assistant manager and Ryan Orlando as head lifeguard.

All three did an excellent job last year, as did the full staff, making sure that a great pool season will be had for all.

This Friday, the first Family Fun Night is set with DJ Steve Griffin ready to “Rock and Roll” to welcome in the summer. This is the first on many events planned for this year.

I suggest to all those who haven’t signed up for membership, should think about doing so, there is no better place so close by, to relax, socialize and enjoy the summer months.

This Saturday, June 23 the Williston Park Little League will be holding their third annual fundraiser at the American Legion, Post 144, on Willis Avenue in Williston Park.

There will be live music provided by “The Touch”! The event is scheduled from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The entrance fee is $50 dollars, which includes an open bar and light food.

There will be raffles, a silent auction and a 50/50.

A great night is planned and it will be nice for coaches, parents and friends to get together for a relaxing night.
