A boy was arrested in Roslyn Heights on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly throwing rocks off a train trestle onto cars traveling on the Long Island Expressway, Nassau County police said.
At 1:35 p.m., the 14-year-old from Roslyn Heights, was with two other 14-year-olds on a train trestle spanning over the Long Island Expressway between exit 37, at Willis Avenue, and exit 38, at the Northern State Parkway, police said.
The offender allegedly proceeded to throw rocks at approaching eastbound vehicles, damaging the windshields of at least two different cars, police said.
A subsequent investigation by Highway Patrol officers led to the location of the juveniles and the identification of one of the three boys, who was arrested, police said.
No injuries were reported as a result of these incidents, police said.
The offender’s identity has not been disclosed because he is a juvenile.
The offender has been charged with four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief 3rd degree, police said. He is due in family court on April 19.
